One of the things you really need to tap into the resources for the more abundant life is to have a reverence for God. I’ll say it in another way. We need to want to know and have a respect for God, His Word, and His son Jesus Christ.

In Proverbs chapter 1 verse 7 it says, “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” Whenever you see the word fear in the Bible you have to look at the context to see if it’s talking about fear like to be afraid of something. The Word of God clearly says we are not to fear what man can do to us. There’s another meaning of the word fear that is used in this verse. The word ‘fear’ in this verse means to have a reverence, awe and respect for God. The verse goes on to say “the fools despise wisdom and instruction.” We certainly don’t want to be in that category.

From the Bible we learn that if we incline our ears and apply our hearts to understand, if we cry after knowledge and lift up our voice for understanding along with searching like we’re searching for treasure and valuables, then we will understand the fear or the reverence of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. In the Bible this is an absolute promise because it uses the word shalt. Shalt puts it in the absolute.

God wants you to know. God wants to help you to know. You ask God for help and look into the Bible for the answers and you will absolutely find the answers.

The Bible goes on to say that happy is the man that finds wisdom and the man that gets understanding because it’s more valuable than silver and gold.

The Bible goes on to say that when you find it, it is a way to pleasantness and a way to a path of peace. We all need to have pleasant and peaceful times.

In James chapter 1 it tells us that “if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God, that giveth to all men liberally.”

To have pleasant days and peaceful ways you need to want to know God and have respect for God, His Word and His son Jesus Christ. These are some of the keys to live the more than abundant life that Jesus Christ came to make available.

Until the next time we get together, may God bless you abundantly.
